There are biochemical assays as well as cell-based assays. The assays that are predominant in the medical world are biochemical assays. Many scientists around the world are looking to develop cell-based assays as it has proven to be more critical and have a slight degree of accuracy when compared to biochemical assays. However, this is not to disregard biochemical assays as they have helped within the medical field as long as they have existed.
